NEWS

JULY 1st 2017

The perfect lineup is in place as we welcome Lee Wincott onto the drum stool. This beast has brought a powerful new edge to Valous that has been wanting for quite some time. Things are about to get very beefy indeed.

With all the new things that have been happening behind the scenes with the new drummer, working on the EP follow up to TD7 so we thought we would refresh the old faithful logo and bring it up to date and give it a shiny new look. Literally!

MAY 11th 2017

Loads going on in the Valous camp right now biggest of which is that we are working on the follow EP to our second album, The Devil's Seven. There's loads of updates to be added here but for now please check us on Facebook for our news and updates whilst the website undergoes some subtle changes.

Thanks for your patience guys and KEEP ON SINNING!

JANUARY 1st 2017

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE FROM THE VALOUS BOYS!!!

Last year is behind us now but it held some of the best highlights and most fun times we have had in this band. We closed off 2016 with not only a special guest appearance at the awesome Bloodstock Open Air but our guitarists RIG and Ben both secured themselves an endorsement with Midlands amp giants, Laney Amplification. The boys went on record as saying "there really is no option when it comes to the guitar tones we wanted in Valous. Laney is not only a company from our hometowns but they're heard on some of the finest recordings and stages out there. Brutal? You bet they're brutal".

To hear the lads rocking their Laney Ironheart 120's get yourselves to a show and hear for yourself why Valous and Laney had to get into bed for some happy times.

OCTOBER 1st 2016

JULY 11th 2016

Valous are absolutely thrilled and emotionally charged to announce that we will be playing on the New Blood Stage at the incredible BLOODSTOCK OPEN AIR 2016. After an awesome night of music and powerful energy at the Roadhouse M2M finals last night we was picked as special guests to play this amazing stage that so many great bands before us have had the honour of treading upon. We would like to thank all our supporters, the ever awesome Roadhouse team, the bands that shared last night with us and Simon and Rob from Bloodstock.

You'll be seeing us around the whole weekend so please be sure to come say hello and if we're not clashing with your fave band, please come and show us some support at the New Blood Stage.

Again, Valous thank you all from the bottom of all our hearts. From myself (Rig), Mat, Wilf, Ben, Marcin and even our old guard OB1 and Rangoon... We love you and we thank you.

SEE YOU AT THE FRONT!!!

JULY 7th 2016

Well, as it's the 7th of the 7th today we are pleased to announce that at 7pm GMT we will be releasing our debut video for iRot from the album The Devil's Seven. We would like to give a shout out to Mr Rob Tomkins who not only remains one of our most devoted fans but also appears in the video as the evil psychiatrist Dr T. See him cage us Valous boys in cells for his tormenting pleasures.

A little reminder, Valous make our return to The Roadhouse Birmingham this coming Sunday for the huge finals of Metal 2 The Masses. We are going up against some fierce talent so get your bums to the gig and support the scene and the bands for what is promising to be an epic and full night of metal.

JUNE 20th 2016

It's on baby and we're absolutel thrilled to be playing this monster gig in July. Regardless of what happens, it promises to be an awesome night of majestic mayhem and music so get down, get a round in and get to the front of this bad boy.

APRIL 25th 2016

Join us this coming Friday, April 29th at the Roadhouse in Birmingham to not only celebrate the birthday of one of the Birmingham metal scene's biggest supporters who's 65th birthday it is but also to help us bid farewell to Valous founding father and moaning ol' sod, Andy 'OB1' O'Brien and give our new drummer Marcin Glogowski one hell of a warm welcome at his first Valous Gig. Come down, say happy birthday, say farewell and show the new guy how awesome a Valous gig can be.

Sharing the stage with us will be our awesome brothers in Left For Red and those damn fine fellows in A Born Disaster.

Don't miss it people... don't do that to yourselves.

Also this coming weekend, Valous head over to The Haygate in Telford for a few days of rock and metal and to be part of one hell of a lineup for one hell (or three) of a cause at the Charity Weekender. We also happen to be sharing the stage with some guys called Diamond Head. Are they evil? We'll let you know!!!

Come down and support the weekend if you're not playing, come down and support the weekend if you are playing, but you'll catch us on the Sunday. And need I mention, it'll also be Wilf's first official gig as full-time Valous bassist 2016 and beyond.

APRIL 20th 2016

On Saturday the 16th of April, long time Valous boy JD, player of both guitar in his original roll and then drums for the last year has had to resign from the band. JD has been suffering for quite some time with an arm issue. Something he tried and tried to keep down but it's finally knocked him off the drum stool. We can't say we're sad to see him go because he's just too damn chirpy and forever smiling. Never trust a man who smiles that much. Only kidding, JD knows how we feel about him and we back him in his future persuits 100%. As someone once said... "A member never truly leaves Valous, they just move to the front of the audience".

So who's holding the sticks from here on out? We are thrilled and very very excited to reveal that taking up perminant beat action in Valous is Mr Marcin Glogowski. Some of you may know him from his time on the scene laying evil beats for some very well known local bands. This guy is a force to be reckoned with and his playing is not only going to be more metal than ever you've seen in Valous but so much more besides. Tides are turning, times are changing, winds are blowing and Valous 2016 are coming for you.

And we're bringing the large.

MARCH 11th 2016

The times have gone live for the awesome event that is Mosh Against Cancer. There's some SERIOUS talent on this billing guys and at them prices and for that cause you'd be insane to miss out.

Get your bottom's over to Coventry and show Valous and everyone else over the days some love and support.

See you at the front!

MARCH 10th 2016

It's been a busy month getting things settled in with new boy Ben Read and the last few gigs with him have been a real blast.

Yesterday we entered into our first round heats of Metal 2 The Masses. Guess what? We are absolutely delighted to let you know that with the support of an awesome audience and by the judges good graces Valous are through the the Semi Finals. The line-up for this is unsure yet what with five more heats to go but if one thing is certain, it's that Valous will NOT be sitting around idol until our next M2M gig. HELL NO!!! We have many things cooking and we are hungry... We Are Starving... WE ARE FUCKING RAVENOUS FOR IT!!!

To all the bands that played that night, to the other band that went through with us and most important of all, to the audience, the Roadhouse staff and the judges of doom, Valous thank you from the bottom of our hearts and we love you long time.

FEBRUARY 7th 2016

Not ones to sit around for too long doing nothing we have for you some epic news.

Valous are very excited to announce that Ben Read (ex Cloven Hood lead guitar monster) is now in possesion of THAT black shirt. Yes... Ben is now a fully fledged, fully paid up and lifelong member of Valous and we are very happy to have him within our family. You can catch us with Ben taking up his six string duties in Kettering on the 27th February at the Prince Of Wales. If you're in the area, not in the area but are willing to travel then come down and give Ben the welcome we know you lovers of Valous can give. Not to be missed people, not to be missed.

JANUARY 31st 2016

Awesome Night at The Giffard Arms, massive thanks to all that came down and supported Pauls final Valous show. We wish him well as he sails off into the sunset and thank him for being a part of The Devil's Seven campaign. Don't stay away from the scene too long you ninja based fool! Much Love from your Valous bro's.

\m/

JANUARY 7th 2016

It is with sadness yet an excitement filled belly for the future that we bring you the news that Valous and our resident ninja hitman Paul Anthony 'Snipps' Sippits will shortly be parting ways. This decision is based purely on musical direction differences within Valous plus Paul's desire to pursue future projects which we can't mention at this time due to Paul being both a ninja and a cards to chest holding mofo. (Though Rig reckons he's just off on a dogging world tour of all the popular sites).

Valous were honoured to of had what we consider one of the nicest guys on the scene within our ranks for a year and the body of work Paul has been part of within that time will forever stand. We feel we've hogged him long enough though and as of the end of January we are releasing him back into the wild.

We will be fully supporting Paul in all his future endeavours as he will with us too. After all, nobody ever truly leaves Valous, they just emigrate to the front of the stage rather than on it.

NOVEMBER 28th 2015

2016 FESTIVAL NEWS

We are very excited to finally announce 3 big festival appearances confirmed for 2016.

First up on the 2nd April, we will be taking the stage at the Mosh Against Cancer weekender in Coventry as part of a massive 4 day line up of Metal.

Then we'll be returning to The Haygate in Telford for the very worthwhile cause that is Soldiers Off The Streets, supporting headliners Diamond Head on Sunday 1st May.

Finally and as previously mentioned we are delighted to announce we will performing at next years Breaking Bands Festival at Stoke Prior in May.  This will be the second year of the festival following this years hugely successful sell out and we can't wait to bring a little Valous magic to the proceedings.

OCTOBER 30th 2015

So the wait is over and we can finally reveal the exciting news that next May we will be gracing the stage at the awesome Breaking Bands Festival. This will be the second year of the festival after last years sell out and we can't wait for this massive weekend and the official start to the festival season. Tickets are on sale now so grab them while they're hot!

SEPTEMBER 28th 2015

What a weekend!

Well I think we're just about recovered from a day and night of sheer mayhem in Trowbridge. Massive thanks to all involved in Fire & Forge Fest for having us on and the hospitality all day. We had an absolute blast and it was great to catch up with so many friends aswell as making a whole host of new ones, absolutely awesome event that we can't recommend highly enough.

Next up... The Devil's Seven tour rolls on as we make a long overdue return to Kettering with our good friends in Evyltyde and the boys in Internal Conflict, Saturday night at The Prince Of Wales from 8.00pm.

SEPTEMBER 21st 2015

Counting down to this weekend as we hit Trowbridge to make our debut at the Rock Diabetes - Fire & Forge Fest! Looking forward to catching up with some friends on the bill including our crazy Left For Red brothers. You can catch our set on the Usher Stage at 4.45pm and we'll be hanging around all day so seek us out and come say Hi!

SEPTEMBER 13th 2015

Last night's gig at The Wolverhampton Slade Rooms was an epic night indeed and the extremely diverse lineup was something to behold. Everything from ourselves to EXTREME experimental madness. Was definitely one of Hils Ovation's more varied events but as are all of her events, it was an awesome blast and everyone had a great time. What a night!!!

SEPTEMBER 3rd 2015

Well what can we say... the Mighty Wraith all dayer was an amazing day with some truly amazing bands. If you was there then you know that from band one to band done it was a full tilt metal mayhem blinder. Mr Lee 'Wilf' Wilson made his Valous debut and did so in the style only he can. Put it this way, the boy done good. Who are we kidding, the boy did amazing. Everyone was on fire and the audience was in numbers from start to finish. Days like that remind me why we do what we do.

Next up for us is our headline gig at The Slade Rooms in Wolverhampton on the 12th. If you have't got a ticket but what like to come then be sure to drop one of us a line via email, Facebook, twitter etc etc etc and one of us will sort you out.

In the meantime... here's the lineup for this rather nice Ovation Music event.

AUGUST 26th 2015

Due to circumstances out of our control our bassist Andrew O'Brien has had to have surgery on his arm so is going to have to pull out of a few of our upcoming shows. However stepping in and putting on the shirt so we can deliver you the show we like to deliver, from Telford and former Paraletica bass monster, Lee "Wilf" Wilson. This guy is a beast so you do not wanna miss a chance to see him shine this coming Sunday at The Roadhouse in Birmingham for The Mighty Wraith pre album launch show. Killer lineup guys, and I do mean killer.

See you there!!!

JULY 1st 2015

LONDON CALLING!!! It's been a while but we're very pleased to announce our return to the London stage as we bring The Devil's Seven Tour to O2 Academy Islington. Saturday 1st August, join us for an awesome night of metal. Reduced price tickets now available direct from us. E-mail or message us for details.

See you at the bar!

JUNE 24th 2015

Come get your collective bottoms to the O2 Academy Birmingham tomorrow to get you some melodic metal goodness. Primus may be next door but I can tell you where the fun will be and it won't be on any Seas Of Cheese. In all seriousness our very own Rig is a huge Primus fan so he's pissed that he can't be seeing them as he has do deliver the Valous metal along with the rest of us. Get to the front, show some love and enjoy a night of awesome local (and not so local) talent.

JUNE 6th 2015

JD's first gig put to bed and what a gig it was. The Boy done good and honoured the stool left by Rangoon in a way I know he'd be proud of. I know this because Rangoon was there at the front giving it the big love and that is something wicked I think you'll agree. Brotherly support done right!

Paraletica were as fierce and crushing as usual, love those guys to bits. Rustlung too were bringing the metal in abundance. A cracking night indeed spent with friends old and new.

Next up... Mat Does The Festivals! Yes, our very own Rockstar will be found in a crowd, beer tent, public urinal or vomit filled bush near you very soon indeed. The rest of us are here and there and Rig will be hard at work writing something very hush hush for all your pleasures.

MAY 29th 2015

Sophiefest 4 was an awesome event, everyone involved was just spot on from the promoter to the event owner and all the staff. That's not even mentioning the bands, most of who were just super friendly and chatty. Yep, a great cause and a grea event. Top stuff!

So, this Friday will see us venturing back to The Boar's Head, Kiddy with our good buddies in Paraletica for what should be a wicked night of metal from ourselves, the Paraletica lads and Rustlung. It's also the day we see exactly what JD can bring to the drum stoll besides his huge grin.

Should be good boys and girls, so come down and join us for a pint and some cracking music.

You know it makes sense!

MAY 19th 2015

After a cracking night amongst great friends in Gloucester we are now in preparation for this coming Saturday's event in Tamworth which should be another amazing night. Yes ladies and gents, it's Sophiefest 4 time and with a line-up like the one that's going on, you do not want to be missing out. Two days of some awesome bands and awesome people; you'd be insane not to catch it and it's for such a brilliant cause too. Come join us at the front, at the bar or wherever you can find us.

MAY 16th 2015

Valous once again return to The Lower George Inn, Gloucester, for another Two Bucks Event.

It's Saturday, the Devil is in us and we're coming for you.

See you at the front people!

May 4th 2015

IT'S OUT!!!

The Devil's Seven hit the world yesterday and last night was the launch of said album. And what a launch it was. From the ground up, front to back, top to bottom, the night was epic. We couldn't of wished for a better response in front of a home crowed. The band we had sharing the stage with us were all the perfect billing partners. Pro attitude, top lads not to mention some of the finest talent on the circuit you will find. Even the audience had some of the crème de la crème of awesome metal in their ranks. Most of whom were up front giving it large! Gotta love the support on the scene, it's epic. You know who you guys are!

First up was Kettering's own top lads Stonepit Drive. Great guys, great band and one we'll be hooking up with again in the near future. Next up was them plucky chaps in Glass Bullet who we've played with before. Always a pleasure to gig with these fellas and a top band to watch. Next... Well next... our very good friends from The Black Country, our brothers in beer, the boys who enjoy a swill almost as much as us, those lovely boys in Eyes of the Raven. Check in with these dudes, they're keeping shit real on the scene. No bullshit, no faff, just honest from the heart groove metal done dirty. Love 'em! This news entry is starting to read like a gig review so we apologies. We digress! All the way from the smoke, Ol' London Town, the awesome, the energetic, the next big thing to hit your ears, In Search Of Sun. Watch 'em, you'd better watch 'em!

The audience, the bands, the venue staff, all top top people and ones that made our night as awesome as it was. From the very bottom of our hearts, we want to thank you all for being there to share in what was a blinding night.

Now, go get your copy of The Devil's Seven and enjoy!

Much love guys

Valous

April 30th 2015

With the album about to be unleashed we're desperate to get back on the road. So, for your devilish pleasure, we're pleased to announce the first batch of The Devil's Seven Tour Dates!

We look forward to seeing you all at venues near and far as we present The Devil's Seven LIVE!

April 26th 2015

Well folks, there's a little sad news to share with you all but the news does come with a silver linning.

LONG time drummer and very very old friend Ron Rangoon Ogeer-Ali is set to have a baby. Not him personally but his "Her In Doors". As such Rangoon can no longer commit to all the stuff Valous have going on and coming up, so he is going to be hanging up his little red sticks and calling it a day. All the details, the little funny photos and video clip can all be found over on our Facebook page so be sure to go check it out if you would like to know more regarding his last few gigs with us. They will be your last chance to see the little fella with us so come down and show the man some love for his last dates.

On the other side of the coin there is this news...

Yep! Long suffering ex member JD is making his very welcome return to the Valous fold. It's a shame it's to replace another brother but it's nice to have the grinning fool back none the less. I know RIG personally looks forward to many jokes at JD's expense. He loves it!

JD will be making his re-debut with us on the 5th June at The Boar's Head in Kidderminster. Come see what the fuss is all about!

April 3rd 2015

People keep asking if we're back??? YEAH... WE'RE THINKING WE'RE BACK!!!

March 18th 2015

Join us this Sunday for a special Devil's Seven Warm-Up Show, with a huge line-up of metal. The action begins at 7:30pm so be there or be... not there.

Miss it and miss out!

Well what d'ya now, Valous have gone and found themselves a new member! It is with great pleasure that we welcome to the twisted Valous family, ex In Denial man... Paul Anothony Sippits! We are looking forward to many years gigging with him kicking off with his debut at Queen's Hall, Nuneaton tomorrow night. Come and show your support and and give Paul the welcome you always afford us. LOVE IT!

September 1st 2014

It is with great sadness that we must announce the departure of our long suffering brother, JD. Jon has had make the decision to leave the band due to work commitments and has our full backing and best wishes for the future. This isn't the last you'll see of The Boy as I'm sure he'll pop up like a Wack-A-Mole at a few Valous gigs here and there. Join us in giving him the send off he deserves at his farerwell gig on Friday 19th September at The Giffard, Wolverhampton. Valous plan to return to a Five-Piece format in the very near future but will be continuing all booking commitments as a Four-Piece in the meantime.

August 20th 2014

Sadly it has been announced that Furyon have had to pull out of their tour support with Mordred so will not be joining us at next weeks O2 II gig. Frontman Matt Mitchell has had vocal chord problems and has been told to take time off to recover. Valous wish him all the best and a speedy recovery. In the meantime though, stepping in on the Mordred tour is East Anglian Metallers, KAINE! This will be the first time Valous play with either of these guys so cannot wait. It's definitely going to be a night a quality metal from both sides of the pond and dare I say it... a beer type beverage too. You know how we do it!

In other news...

Writing and recording continues for our 2015 follow up album. Songs are coming thick, fast and juicy. We'll be sparking a PR campaign in the following months to get you lovely lovely people ready for what we hope will be one of the best releases of next year. Watch this space, that space, not MySpace (cuz it's shit) Twitter and Facebook for upcoming news and various other Valous related good stuff.

May 26th 2014

Our heartfelt thanks go out to everyone that attended the Sophiefest at Rock'It Bar Tamworth over the weekend and especially to all the people that worked so hard on the organisation. It was an incredible weekend of Metal which raised a grand total of £1090.00 for the Sophie Lancaster Foundation. An amazing weekend was had by all and we were privileged to perform on Saturday night to such a great audience. So, we had such a good time in Tamworth that we just can't stay away and in two weeks time WE'RE BACK! Monday 9th of June we return to perform at Yate's in aid of the Variety Childrens Charity. See you there guys!

Big shout out to everyone that came out on Saturday night to catch our headline performance at O2 Academy 3. February 24th, 2014

So things don't always run to plan with a 5 piece Metal Machine and so sadly due to a recent operation the guitar legend Rig was unable to perform this weekend as we hit Nottingham & Northampton.

Valous have always and will always have a SHOW MUST GO ON mentality and on it did go! Despite being a man down the crowd were insane on Saturday night as we hit in The Old Sal, Nottingham with our old friends DRIVEN and we made plenty of new friends for our first time in Northampton last night! Great to see so many people out supporting the scene!

The Path To Crucifixation tour continues this weekend as we make out Kettering debut on Friday night with the awesome BLACK ACID SOULS & then Sunday we return to Rock Zombie, Dudley supporting IRON KNIGHTS.  All being well we hope to be back up full line up for these dates and if you're all very lucky we'll be unleashing a Brand New Track on your ears! See you there. \m/

It's the day after the day after and I (RIG) just wanted to update the site with a big thank you from myself and my boys to all those people that supported Valous through our stages at M2M. Gigantic love goes out to all those people, all those band members and their partners who number too many to mention for turning up stage after stage to show us your love and vote us through.

July 15th, 2013

Well folks, Valous never made it out of the finals but let's be fair, who really gives a fuck. To even be there was without a doubt one of the peak points in Valous' career. We played along some knock-out bands to get there and shared a final billing with what can only be described as the cream of the local metal scene. The quality of the bands and performences on the night was quite frankly awe inspiring. A big ol' spiffing well done to the bastards who spoiled our chances... girls & boys... the one... the only... Gehtika. Top stuff from those boys, catch them now before they're selling arena priced tickets.

July 1st, 2013

We are absolutely thrilled to of made it there and beyond and a HUGE thanks has to go out to our astounding fans and those new people who caught us on the night and enjoyed our set. Valous, thank each and every one of you from the very bottom of our hearts and loins.

MAY UPDATE!!!

The Things You Once Knew is now out, now at large and available through several online retailers as well as physical CD's from our gigs or by contacting either one of the band.

The Mercy You Once Knew Tour 2013 with Left For Red was a fun filled, laughter packed, beer fueled set of crazy dates as only a Valous & LFR combo can do it. Bassists were terrorized, hotels were the setting for a one man trolley Grand Prix, much alcohol was absorbed and many minds were forever damaged thanks to our very own rockstar, Mat 'Rockstar' Shutt and his inability to keep his dick in his trousers and out of the face of sleeping people. The Valous vs LFR challange was won by our very own RIG and a very silly song will be chosen by him for LFR to play at a later date. Needless to say it'll be pretty damn shit and make those playing it feel a little daft. Theme tune to Rainbow anyone? Hmmm will have to think on this one.

Mr RIG has been locked away in the depths of Happy Bastard Creations working on several new songs for the listening pleasure of ya'll and we are looking forward to bringing them to a stage near you very soon indeed.

Valous will be playing at the Metal 2 The Masses competion on the 22nd of May down at the Roadhouse in Birmingham for a chance to play the coverted Bloodstock Open Air. FUCK YEAH! We would love to see you all there for what has so far been an awesome competions with many great bands. We are pretty stoked for this and will be taking the stage with our arses on fire. £3 in folks for 4 bands and fairly cheap beer. Come and show some Valous love and tip a glass with us before and after our set. You know it makes sense!

THE ALBUM IS FINISHED FOLKS!!!

Happy days for us VALOUS boys as we are all set to release out debut Album "The Things You Once Knew".

We can't begin to tell you how stoked we are to get this out there and on the 16th of this month, all the months of work, stress, effort and sleepless nights of alcohol fuled recording, mixing, mastering and art design has finally paid off.

We are twitching people!

So what have we been up to other than working on our album. Well... We have a lovely little mini tour set up with our very good friends in Left For Red which will be kicking off at our album launch on Saturday the 16th February at Eddie's Rock Club in Birmingham. Tickets are £5 or £7 on the door so get in touch with us or turn up on the day for what is set to be a very special evening. Back to the tour! VALOUS and LFR will be hitting 6 dates over 6 locations including Crewe, Nottingham, Stoke On Trent, Wolverhampton and others. Check our dates page for details.
